The Full Story of The Dedicated
SEFER TORAH
Following the terror attack in which Eli Kay was tragically killed, Jewish communities and schools around the world united to donate a Sefer Torah in his memory, known as the Eli Kay Unity Sefer Torah. This Sefer Torah was written through the generosity of thousands of Jews worldwide, with letters sold at just a dollar each, ensuring that everyone could take part in this special initiative and feel connected to it. Everyone who donated holds a certificate with what was bought so they could feel connected to their portion.
The Torah will accompany groups traveling across Israel, symbolizing Eli’s deep love for the land and his passion for its people. It’s purpose is to continue the legacy of the Kiddush Hashem that Eli embodied throughout his life and death, uniting Jews globally as they connect with their heritage. This includes Jewish youth groups and those on journeys to Poland, helping to ground them in their Jewish identity.
Great care was taken in designing the Torah cover, symbolizing Eli's profound connection to both the land of Israel and his Judaism, making this Sefer Torah not just a memorial but a living testament to Eli’s values. Details about the dedication will follow.
